A total of 27 students to deepen Russia's Muslim Islamic studies in a number of state Islamic universities in Indonesia, among others at the State Islamic University (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and Yogyakarta, UIN Sunan Kalijaga. These students come from various regions of Russia is Moscow, Kazan, Tatarstan, Grozny, Chechnya, and Makhachkala, Dagestan. They take a variety of both undergraduate education program (S-1) and master (S-2) and doctorate (S-3) in a variety of majors or specialties, such as sharia, Islamic economics and recitations.
In a meeting with the student at the Embassy in Moscow a day before departure to Indonesia, Russian Federation Ambassador to the Republic of Belarus and concurrent appreciation to students who have the determination to study Islam in Indonesia. Ambassador Hamid Awaludin said, these students are the pioneers in developing the relationship between the people of Indonesia and Russia are not only the religious aspect, but also educational, social and cultural.
The meeting was also attended by Indonesian delegation who follow the "Interfaith Dialogue Indonesia-Russia?" in Moscow, among Kabalitbang Ministry of Religious Affairs, Prof. Dr. H. Abdul Djamil, Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof Dr Komaruddin Hidayat, Chairman of Pondok Modern Darussalam Gonto Dr. Shukri Zarkasyi KH, and Prof Dr Philip K Wijaya, Representative of Chinese Ethnic and Walubi, and Alberd Pardede, IDP Setditjen Subsection Head of Planning, Foreign Ministry.
According Komaruddin Hidayat, Indonesia is one place that can be used as a place to learn to deepen Islamic.
"Indonesia and Russia are the countries are equally multi-ethnic and multi religious. Education gained great benefit to students themselves and society at large by promoting tolerance amongst," said Komaruddin.
Mukhammad-Arif Darvishov of the International Institute of Theology and Hububungan Makhachkala, Dagestan, expressed high appreciation to the Government of Indonesia, which has provided the opportunity for the Russian Muslim students studying in Indonesia. "We are very pleased that our students who are studying in Indonesia is currently fine. With the delivery of new students are expected to be closer ties between communities of both nations," said Mukhammad-Arif.
He added, knowledge about Indonesia, the development of thought and practice of Islam in Indonesia, became an important base for the study. According to him, Indonesia familiar with the internal religious tolerance and among religious believers.
Delivery Muslim students in 2011 was the second time, after the year 2010 as many as 10 Russian Muslim students of Islamic studies at UIN deepen Malang. This cooperation is one of the implementation of cooperation high antarperguruan Islam in Russia and Indonesia, signed at the end of 2009, when the Rector of the Russian Islamic University, Islamic University and the Moscow International Relations Institute of Theology and Makhachkala visiting Indonesia.
